PRINCE2® (PRojects IN a Controlled Environment) is a structured method for effective Project Management.

  1. Continuous focus on the business justification (business case) of the project.
  2. A predefined organization structure with agreed roles, responsibilities, tasks and competences for all project management team members ensuring management and stakeholder representation and commitment in the several levels of management of the project.
  3. Focus primarily on results instead of just on activities by applying product based planning.
  4. Project management is a process, applicable for all types of projects, regardless of project scale, type, organization, geography or culture. It is a flexible and scalable method which can be adjusted to customer and project needs.
  5. PRINCE2 is widely recognized and understood and provides a common vocabulary for all project participants.
  6. Staging of a project is not fixed, but flexibly focused on effective governance.
  7. PRINCE2 promotes learning from project experience and continual improvement in organizations.
